Plastic Free July: Helping Workplaces Make Better Choices, One Small Change at a Time

From complimentary fruit and refillable water to returnable glass milk bottles and purpose-led partnerships, here's how goodnus is helping businesses reduce single-use plastics without compromising on convenience.

Plastic Free July is more than a campaign, it's an opportunity for businesses to rethink the everyday choices they make.

From the drinks in the office fridge to the products stocked in workplace kitchens, small decisions made every day can collectively have a significant impact on reducing single-use plastic.

At goodnus, sustainability has always been at the heart of what we do. We believe that creating happier workplaces also means creating more responsible ones, making it easier for businesses to choose products and services that are better for both their people and the planet.

This Plastic Free July, we celebrated that mission through partnerships, customer events and sustainable product choices that show just how simple making a difference can be.

Bringing Plastic Free July to 40 Leadenhall

Towards the end of Plastic Free July, the goodnus team joined forces with Re:Water to host a morning pop-up at 40 Leadenhall, welcoming tenants into work with complimentary fresh fruit and 100% plastic-free refillable water.

The aim was simple: start the working day with healthier refreshments while encouraging conversations around reducing single-use plastics.

The response was incredible.

In just under an hour and a half, we handed out:

  • 🍎 More than 600 pieces of fresh fruit
  • 💧 Over 520 bottles of Re:Water

It was fantastic to meet so many people, answer questions about sustainable workplace supplies and demonstrate how easy it can be to make environmentally conscious choices without sacrificing quality or convenience.

We were also proud to be flying the sustainability flag alongside First Mile, whose recycling and waste management services help thousands of UK businesses support the circular economy.

A huge thank you goes to the entire 40 Leadenhall team for helping organise such a successful event, as well as everyone who stopped by for a chat, a piece of fruit or a bottle of water.

It's collaborations like these that remind us how powerful small changes can be when businesses work together.

One Simple Swap: Returnable Glass Milk

One of the easiest ways workplaces can reduce their plastic consumption is by replacing plastic milk bottles with traditional returnable glass bottles.

Unlike single-use plastic containers, glass milk bottles are collected after use, professionally washed and reused again and again, dramatically reducing waste while supporting a more circular economy.

It's a small change that delivers multiple benefits:

  • Reduced single-use plastic
  • Reusable and returnable packaging
  • Fresher tasting milk
  • Convenient delivery and collection
  • Less waste generated in the workplace

For many businesses, switching to glass milk is one of the simplest sustainability improvements they can make, requiring no change to day-to-day routines while making a measurable environmental difference.

Better Drinks. Better Choices.

Plastic Free July isn't only about reducing waste, it's also about choosing products from businesses that are actively working to improve the world around them.

That's why we're proud to partner with Re:Water, whose premium spring water is packaged in durable aluminium bottles designed to be refilled and reused, helping reduce reliance on single-use plastic bottles.

Whether it's in meeting rooms, reception areas or workplace events, choosing refillable water is another simple step towards creating a more sustainable office environment.

Creating Better Workplace Moments with Prime Time

Sustainability doesn't have to come at the expense of fun.

When England reached the semi-final, we saw the perfect opportunity to combine Plastic Free July with one of our favourite challenger brands - Prime Time.

Working through the early hours, our overnight logistics team delivered hundreds of Prime Time gift boxes to customers ahead of kick-off, creating a memorable surprise waiting for teams as they arrived at work.

Beyond producing award-winning beer, Prime Time is committed to making a positive environmental impact through its partnership with Seven Clean Seas, with every can sold helping remove plastic from the marine environment.

Alongside its sustainability credentials, Prime Time has built a range that's:

  • Low calorie
  • Low carb
  • Gluten free
  • Full of flavour

It's exactly the kind of innovative, purpose-led brand we love introducing to our customers.

Because creating better workplace experiences isn't always about big gestures. Sometimes it's the hundreds of small moments that bring people together.

Sustainability Made Simple

Plastic Free July may only last one month, but the choices we make throughout the year matter just as much.

Whether it's switching to returnable glass milk, offering refillable water, introducing healthier workplace refreshments or partnering with brands committed to making a positive impact, every decision contributes towards a more sustainable future.

At goodnus, we're committed to helping businesses make those decisions as simple as possible.

Together, we can reduce waste, improve workplace wellbeing and create offices that are better for people and better for the planet.
